Mrs. Acosta is from the Lake Norman area and has lived there her whole life and has always wanted to become a teacher. She attended North Mecklenburg High School where she decided she wanted to become a Family and Consumer Sciences Teacher from mentoring during her Senior year in a Freshman Apparel class. She then attended Central Piedmont Community College for her Associates in Arts Degree, on a full scholarship. After graduating, she went to Appalachian State University for her Bachelor's Degree in Family and Consumer Sciences in Secondary Education, where she also received 3 consecutive scholarships during her studies and during her Student Teaching. This degree allows her to teach up to 6 different courses including Apparel, Foods, Nutrition, Parenting, Child Development, Personal Finances, and of course Interior Design. She is now continuing with her education by working on her Master's Degree in Health Education through East Carolina University to further her previous degree and to also help achieve her life goal of becoming a professor.
